Proofreading (final step)

Proofreading comes after your book has gone through professional edits.
Checks include:
-errors in punctuation, grammar, and spelling
-subject-verb agreement
-doubled or omitted words
-formatting errors (spacing and hyphens, capitalization, homophones)
I will flag minor plot holes, readability and timeline issues, POV changes, and factual errors, but they are not the main focus of a proofread.
